Janet Timmerije is a professional artist working in her studio every day. Her work is characterised by expressive and emotive use of brilliant and energetic application of impastoed paint, expressing her interpretation of the world surrounding her. She uses expressive black lines and bright, mainly primary colours. The end result invites the viewer to touch it and often coaxes a smile.

Her work of art always leave space for imagination. She does not use detailed realistic scenes but rich, luscious impasto; recognizable fantasy images, providing joy to the viewer.
